STACKS Where and how much

I'm thinking really hard about stacking my truck.
I know if I do that it will be turnouts for sure, so that is not an issue.
My question is where is the best place to buy the parts and how much people paid.
I will do the work myself so getting it done is also not an issue.
Also how high above the cab do you guys have yours ?
Any pro and cons will be considered.

This is all thanks to Hired Gun and his proding to get me to stack mine. So if I get divorced over this I hope you have an extra bedroom.

Also I hope to have this done before we go to Joels in June.

: Eddie : 8)

Re:STACKS Where and how much

I got the stacks and the splitter from www.berubes.com and the rest of the fittings are just old off the shelf four inch NAPA truck exhaust parts. You've seen mine so you know how they look. You can see more pics in my photo album on page two.

I priced berubes and they were way too high if you want 5" turnouts. I bought a set of them from Mark Got_smoke? for 100 bucks. and they were 56" tall.

Re:STACKS Where and how much

My advise to you is to give Justin Rawlings a call if you want I can PM you his cell #. He built my stacks a cheaper way than most people go, but just as good.

Instead of costly elbows and reducers he cut 45* angles in the 4" pipe we used for plumbing and where the 90* elbows would have been he welded two 45*'s to make 90*'s.

So all I had to have on mine was a adapter for the factory 3" to 4" then they made me a 90* elbow up into the bed and made my T-pipe and the elbows on the ends then "capped" (don't ask me, just what I was told) the ends of my stacks and welded them to the pipe/plumbing.

It is about $200-300 cheaper this route.....consider all options ;D

I'm sure that Jared has told you all of this though!

Re:STACKS Where and how much

I bought my stuff at Iowa80 and Napa. I would advise making the set up yourself, I got everything to make mine for under $300.

Bulthis,

There is a guy right near you in KY at Cynthiana called R&R Diesel Performance he is a specialists in stacks. His name is chris Rollins and his # is 859-588-1475. he called us about our T-304 stainless and aluminized exhaust system for his customers that didn't want to go the stack route, that way he could supply all the different exhaust needs. Tell him DPPI in Nashville, TN sent you.

You'll need the 90's to route the pipes but you will still want a section of flex in there as well to allow it movement when the frame twists and flexes.

Re:STACKS Where and how much

I used a short section of flex just to allow for engine movement and such. You seen mine I believe.
Be careful cutting corners on the chrome, you may get what you pay for. You know what cheap chrome does in a few months not that the ones they are talking about here would do that. As I remember, you had a real nice looking truck, I'd hate to see it with rusty stacks.
One more thing I'll tell you, that Jacobs you have sounds terrible with stacks. It makes a high pitch whistle that is greatly amplified by those two flag poles you are talking about installing. I can tell you that from experience.
Good luck.

DD4X4

AH, I guess since it is already on there, I'll go ahead and keep it. I'll think about you though if I ever remove it. : :
