Stacks on a truck with a topper?
I would love to put dual stacks on my CTD- but I also want a topper- keeps the snow out of the bed
Anybody ever seen a vehicles with stacks and a topper- pics? If yes- how did they get the the topper to seal around the stacks- and how do they pull the topper on and off?

I have been thinkin of doin this for a while. Having a nice finished garage has stopped me so far (don't want soot on the paint).
Anyway my idea is as follows:
Cut 6" hole in bed of truck with matching hole above for stacks. Connect the two holes with a piece of three section pipe. short piece attached to bed of truck, short piece attached to topper and a long piece slip fit over the two. This will allow water to pass through topper and not get into bed of truck. Stacks run up through 6" pipe. The stacks can have a coupling in the bed so the can be removed before cap comes off. (that is what slipfit pipe inside is for. I know there is a little work involved but I am certain a really nice job could be done this way. Now if I could only figure out the soot thing.

The only thing I question would be the effects of frame twist.
If you go through a steep drive way that causes the trucks suspension to get crossed up, there may be some frame twist.
Would this cause any binding between the exhaust and the top of the cap?
May want to design in a little slop to allow the stacks to move a little bit.

I think Raw's idea is pretty sound- the frame twist shouldn't effect it because the 6 inch "dummy" pipe is only connected between bed and topper- and the pipe has a couple inches to roam around LOL- I don't put my truck in the garage- that is for my street car and race car LOL
