Hey everybody, I am looking for some pics of stacks with bed covers. I did a search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. A good friend of mine has a PS with one of those roll back bedcovers and wants stacks. I thought that a while back I saw someone with a cover like that and some stacks in front of it. Thanks for the help, even if it is for a power stroke!

That pic helps some, but I thought that a little while ago there was a red truck in the classifieds that had a hard cover shortened. I looked and it wasn't posted anymore. We were just wondering what it would take to shorten the cover and then seal it off again.

 

I have a hard cover on mine (no stacks - never will) however a friend of mine has stacks and won't leave me alone about stacking (once you stack you never go back) came up with a good idea for stacking a hard cover. Cut your holes then about 3" to the back of the stacks, strike a line and cut the cover from side then install a hidden piano hinge so you can still lift the cover. Only hard thing will be a bit harder to remove the whole cover due to stack height and limits you to mitre cut stacks.

 

Around the area I live in I have seen a truck with stacks and a snap down bed cover. They put a flat piece of diamond plate across the front of the bed and had holes cut to fit around the stacks. I am not sure if they had the diamond plate long enough they could just buy a short bed cover to fit so they didn't need to hem up the original. Sorry no pics just have seen it at county fairs, pulls.

 

If I were to do it I'd fab a "bezel" of sorts out of stainless or d-plate that fit the dimension of a tool box. Cut the holes for the stacks. Then I'd get a tool box tonno:

In my opinion not to offend anyone.From what i seen stacks on pickups only look good when they come underneath the truck,up towards the sides and then straight up but only if that pickup is a dually with a flatbed because SRW p/u's look kind of gay with stacks coming out from the bed.Looks kind of childish and quiets the lovely straight pipe exhaust sounds coming from your motor,Just my opinion.

What about dually pickups?

 

I my opinion stacks that come up underneath the pickup and then out the sides looks gay. But i guess everybody has there own opinion

 

stacks IMO are for people w/ the black smoke to fill them.

I agree, HAVE THE SMOKE TO FILL THEM! If you do stacks right on a SRW they don't look gay but if you screw up and make them look all redneck, now thats gay! I really don't give a **** what some trucker thinks about my stacks!

Well said sea bass! I'm not gonna change my stacks just cuz some moron tells me they're "gay". Truckers are no one special. They don't have all knowing powers about stacks!

 

Heck, I've had truckers compliment me on the way my stacks look on my shortbed SRW. They especially loved the straight pipe roar and the smoke cloud that followed.
