stacks ?

I am hoping to put stacks on my truck soon. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have seen plenty of pictures but never a set in person. What is the best way to run the pipe. Should I go through the middle of the bed and then put the y-pipe in or should I put the Y-pipe under the truck and have both stacks come through the bed. I hope that makes sense. Any advice would be great. Don't know how soon I will be able to get them but I would like to get an idea of what I need to do. Thanks again.

Re:stacks ?

On running the plumbing I say its personal prefrence. I ran mine up into the bed then T-ed it off. <br><br>One thing I would recommend......TURNOUTS! <br><br>I've got miter's and I wish I had got turnouts now! :'(<br>Whenever it rains my truck ends up looking like a holestien (my truck is white).

Re:stacks ?

I ran my plumbing up through the center and went to each bed rail. Then I cut the stack at a 45 or so and used it for part of the elbow.<br>Next, I used to chrome clamps and drilled through the bed and double nutted it from inside. This keeps<br>them secure. I then cut a piece of diamond plate to hide the work between the toolbox and the bed. Under <br>the truck, I ran 4 inch down pipe to 4 inch flex (2 ft long) up to the adapter to 5 inch in the bed. One hole, no mess. Dieseldude 4x4 has looked at it. Ask him. He did the same <br>with his. Now I have to go back and put a sleeve in the stack so I can loosen it, turn them in, and tighten for <br>sanctioned pulls. Then loosen and turn for raod driving. No big deal. Its for audience pleasure.

Re:stacks ?

Hey thanks for the replies. Right now I have 5 inch from the downpipe back. I was going to use all of the pieces from that to fabricate the stacks. I saw that you used 4 inch under the truck and you used a piece of flex. Do you think there is enough room to use my 5 inch pieces or am I going to have to go buy new 4 inch stuff. Thanks again.

Re:stacks ?

I think it would work great. Flex is cool because you can manipulate it for what application you want. My stacks took about a day to instal. First time doing it so you <br>can do it faster if you think of shortcuts. Enjoy them because stacks are cool. Well I think so.
