Thanks gunracer1 !! please tell us how that works out for ya!

From what i read, gunracer1 put in a new lift pump, and it didnt help, i suppose you still have 0 psi at wot, just like i do!

Are you gonna leave the mech lift pump. And what did you mean with "another pick up"?

i did clean the in-tank filter screen today. Twas not dirty, So i KNOW its the lift pump, now im not sure if i should put on a new lift pump or go gunracer1's route.

(Had a chance to clean the intank filter today... my cousin drove the truck to school, when a big junk yard truck lost an old muffler on the highway, my cus drove over it, and it lifted, and tore into the fuel tank, and lost all the fuel on the highway, had to put on another fuel tank, so by that chance i cleaned the filter....

What kinda lift pump did y'all put in?
I went to a dieselshop today, I bought a Carter lift pump today for another truck, close to stock, for around 200 bucks

and they had one for 90 bucks which was a tad smaler, he said they use it in the 4 cilinder cummins, not sure about that.... but fits on this one also.

i asked for the powerstroke 7.3 lift pump, he showed me a mechanical lift pump (similar working like the 12v cummins') whats the deal with that, isnt the one gunracer1 mentioned a electric frame mounted one?! im confuesed

I ran into this problem a few weeks ago with different issues. Mine would pop on the topend but at 1/2 to 3/4 ran really good. It was fuel pressure/supply, once you went to WOT the fuel pressure gauge would hit zero so hard it would bounce the needle. Once I got that fixed it would hold 15 psi fuel pressure at WOT using only the stock system....that's at 600 hp. I did finish hooking up the stand alone system using a A1000 with a 12AN suction and 10AN supply, with that on it will hold over 50 psi without the boost sensing regulator hooked up.

Jim, what was the problem in the first place with your stock system? I already have my tank tapped with a 12an bung and I am still contemplating how to put together another fuel system. How did you set up yours?

I have run the Aeromotive A1000 for over 3 years.

A relayed 8 gage wire supplies the power to the pump. A -12 line from a bung in the bottom of the tank supplies the pump, and a from the pump a -10 lines go to the filter.

The filter is a 2 micron spin on style with a water drain built into the cartridge. Filter changes are a snap. Spin off, spin on. Turn on the key and you instantly push all the air out of the sytem and the truck starts right up.

From the filter it goes to the supply side of the P7100 in a single connection. Not the dual feed you see on some pulling rigs.

Where the old school overflow valve used to is a banjo fitting to -6 line running to the regulator on the driver finderwell. From the regulator to the tank is another -6 line going all the way back to the old pick up line location.

The return line, even under hard throttle on a race pump flows return volume like crazy.

This system supplies enough bubble free fuel for any P7100 pump you can bolt on. Never had a failure.

I have a liquid filled gage on the regulator for easy fuel system pressure settings. I have run anything from 30 to 75 PSI and found 42 PSI the best setting for my combination.

With a single HX40 size turbo, the truck exceeds the FE clutch in 3rd gear. Even with mild injectors. The clutch slips on the DynoJet at 680 HP in 4th gear. I dont know the real power yet.

Don, so you just eliminated the stock LP? Also where did you get fuel filter setup (housing)? I wanted to keep the lp for reliability sake but if it is not really an issure I dont mind ditching it.

Sounds like mine is almost identical to Don's except I still use the stock system but changed the feed line from the filter to the injection pump to a 6AN. My A1000 system is a stand alone going into the stock inlet via nipple fitting into the banjo bolt, I only use it when I'm going to hammer on it. I've only had the system hooked back up since the fuel issue I talked about.

Don't know what the deal was as I saw nothing but did clean the prefilter screen, removed the fuel heater and changed the fuel filter even though it was fairly new.

Don, what filter are you using......might look into that!

I ditched the stock pump, filter and heater.

The filter is a Perma-Cool brand. It is rated to 90 PSI. Cost about 100 bucks if I recall and it comes with a filter. The filter cartridges replacements are 25. It has two 1/2 NPT inlets and outlets.

Sounds like Jim Fulmer has been running up to 600 HP on the stock fuel system!

Actually 611 on the stock system with 370's a few months ago. Tried to repeat it but breakage took care of that attempt! 0 for 2 on dyno events in 06'

from the sounds of this thread, people runnig the 4k rpm kit can't get enough fuel to run it to 3300-4000, i was wondering with my set up of the 4k rpm kit and laser cut dvs if i would have the same problem of not being able to pump enough fuel, does any one know if i would have the same problem, or if its just with those who have injectors and fuel plates and other fuel adding mods. My engine is stock other than what i have mentioned.

I think my truck would dyno good also. Say I were to race it, it would run out of fuel for sure. I think the stock pump would suffice for a single dyno pull, but full throttle for say a quarter mile is where you would notice the lack of pressure.
