Look up the tire you want to use on the internet; I know the BFG's website lists the revs per mile for their tires: here's the pdf-

If the revs are between 400 to 900, you're golden!

Looking on page 2, it shows a diameter of 36.3" with a revs/mile of 574.

Even if you can't find your exact tire, use the BFG numbers, plug them into your tire size, then fiddle up or down till you've got it right - the number I used hit the nail on the head the first time!! ;D

is this computer calibration only for the newer dodge's. i see in your sig lines that you guys drive 03's. I was about to get a tru speed for my 99 but if this would work on my truck i'd rather do this.

I'd just like to see someone else confirm that dealers in general can and are willing to do this. I thought several others reported for a while that the delears were limited to a size smaller than a 35" tire when they tried.

Several members bought the Truspeed and made it work just because of this, so I'm a tad skeptical, but hopeful.

Your point is exactly what I can't understand; This tool is a standard tool the dealers use; why all the trouble about getting our trucks adjusted to suit the tires we want to use??

I think in some cases it may be ignorance, since there were only two sizes listed in the choices. Other times, perhaps, the dealer is just not willing to go outside what is standard...

In any case, I'm very glad to have found a competent mechanic, willing to do this.

Starting in 1998 and up I think you are able to adjust for tire size, Had a local dealer adjust for my 98 SS/T and the 20" Rims. Never got my 98 CTD programmed though. Not yet. Can only be done with dealer's DRB 3. I looked on my Snap-On scanner and no dice. :-[

What about us properly valved and less computerized folks?!
Does that thingy work for our speedos or are they analog? Mine is consistently wrong when measured with radar and GPS. I think the folks who put her together used a 245 tire size for the speedo and put 265s on the axles.

Pretty sure you "properly valved" and "computer challenged" folk need to change a little gear in either the transmission or transfer case (wherever the speedo cable connects)

12 valvers from 94 and up are just like the overly valved trucks, they all use the diff mounted ABS sensor for the speedometer.

I just had my speedo reset for my 35's for FREE at the dealer. It's nice to have an accurate speed and stuff.

I just called my local Dodge dealer. The guy I talked to said he'd recalibrate it for $45.00. While it's not free (dang it!), it's better than a sharp stick in the eye. He also said that the system is unlike Ford (thank god), and can be recalibrated more than just four times, which is cool because I think I'm going to work on getting tires larger than the 315's I currently have under my beast.

HELL YEAH.... i think about 10 dodge dealers told me it was imposiable to "re calibtrate" my speedo.. 04 3500 HO long bed.. i'm running toyo's there 35's. so i fianaly found ONE dealer said have your local dealer plug there big hand held magic box to your port under your dash and with a little luck you will have your "speedo" working great. he said tell them to go under the "ABS" side and look for REV screen and type in the rev per mile number.... mine was 596 for my 35's and walah!!!!! it's so easy.. saved 250.00 dollars for one of those speed calibrators from "super lift" and it was FREE!!!!! also my fuel milage computer above my head was back on the money.. getting around 19mpg's around town with my banks switch on level 4... smooth sailing.. so anyone now can stroll right on down to any dodge dealer and have this service done!!!
