southbend driving me nuts
when i rebuilt me entire engine setup a couple months ago, i installed a 3600# / 750hp dual disk, getting this thing into 1st or reverse from a stop, will just about give me an aneurysm, and upshifting is sooooo slow, down shifting seems to be about as it was before, is this normal? do i have worn syncros? (about 200,000 miles on the nv4500) throwout brearing issues? i'm getting sick of spending money on all these clutches and never finding anything i like

your title is stating southbend is driving you nuts when you dont even know, I would say that a DD clutch will make the shifting somewhat heavier, but yes worn synch's will slowly make it harder/notchy shifting.

sorry, i'm not trying to bash on sb at all, they have great products, this is just the first time i have expirecned these issues out of a lot of different clutches, the up shifting i can somewhat understand, with having to change the speed of two disks instead of one, but the first and reverse is what is really eating me, and just wondering is something if wrong with my assembly, or if anything can be done to improve these things,
i see you run the same setup, is there any similarities to what i have?

Same issue with my 3250dd, but my tranny is worn and due for a rebuild. I upgraded the hydraulics and that helped. I also made a custom length clutch pushrod which helped even more. Took some trial and error to get a good lengthm but well worth the effort. Still, love my SB clutch!
