south bend double disk clutch question

I have a 2002 dodge ram 2500 cummins with 5 speeds trans. I was installing a south bend double disk clutch with upgraded hydos and input staft. I noticed that the clutch is for a six speed. Will it work with my 5 speed.

that is where the upgraded trans input and the starter spacer come in... it converts the 5 spd trans to a 6spd clutch

It does matter the 5 speed has a different size pressure plate. The six speed pressure plate rubs on the bell housing.

AFAIK, all the DDs for the 2nd gens will work with a 5 or a 6 speed. What kind of pressure plate is it, and where is it rubbing?

I have heard that some of them you have to grind out the bell housing for clearance so they don't rub. Hope you get it. Give Peter a call and see what he says. You might also try their website and see what it has to say

I thought it was the G56 that required clearancing? Ribs on the inside of the bellhousing. All the NV4500 bellhousings I have seen have been pretty smooth on the inside.
