Sound Deadening Material
I know this sound girlish but my wife hates riding in my truck because it is soo noisie. I have a 99 Quad cab short box with a 4" exhaust sytem. How can I reduce the cabin noise? I was told Dynomax would work. However at $50.00 per square foot, I am looking ofr somthing more affordable.

I think you mean Dynamat...
there are plenty of other sound deadeners out there that work just as well or better for considerably less money.
nothing girlish about sound deadener, I've got the entire cab of my truck lined

DynaMat maybe? I dont know who told you 50 bucks a ^2 foot but I would never do business w/ them again......thats WAY to much
DynaMat is kinda pricey (your buying a name) but there are other options that work just as good. Elemental Designs sells 3 different types of their version called "eDead" ranging from 1-5 dollars a sq. foot. http://www.edesignaudio.com/edead.htm
SecondSkin goes for 99$ for 18^2 feet: http://secondskinaudio.com/products/
Theres alot of others out there, check here for some otheres http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ult...;f=55;t=034617

Dynamat is expensive but if you look around you can find it cheaper. Go to www.thezeb.com they have the dynomat extreme bulk pack for 159.00 I think it is 36sf.
Also try looking at www.b-quiet.com they have a variety of items. I have used their brown bread and it is much cheaper than dynamat extreme. The dynamat was easier to use and seem to be of higher quality though but the specs arent too different. bquiet also has some other stuff that is supposed to be very good their composite line but the price starts getting up there.
When I did my 01 quad cab I did the inside of the outer door skins, the inside of the inner door skins and the outside of the inner door skins, at least 2 layers on the back wall behind the seat (which behind the rear seat there was nothing at all just tin) and 2 layers on the floor. It is by no means quiet but it is definitely quieter. I also put in as much as I could reach inside the fresh air intake in the cowl area. That thing is a cave.
There are other items to look at in your quest such as lead sheeting like a roofer would use. A place called soundstop makes some good stuff also and last but not least check out www.atpwrap.com. Also below are a couple extensive threads on the project with a lot of good info.

If it's the high pitched turbo whine bothering your wife try a TAG available here http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/dodge
Besides decreasing turbo whine at least 90% it will increase your mpgs when the truck is used in high boost situations such as towing. Passengers are subjected to the irritating whine much more than the driver.

I think either B-quiet's brownbread or the Dynamat ripoff sold on eBay called FatMat would be the best cluck for the buck.
The common consensus seems to be that the rear corners of the cab are one of the most productive areas to cover with sound deadner, I'd recommend at least 2 layers of it there.

There was a thread on this before was there not. And the cheapest and most effective route was to use Tar Paper with a Sticky Side aka Peal n Seal. Then use some GI? Soundstop foam. The nice thing about the tar Paper is it is really cheap but you must really layer it as its not that thick. But its the route Im going.
Hope this Helps.
