sorry, level kit question

Sorry to bring up this topic again. I know the pucks are about $115 and I just got a price from National wheel and tire for 2.5in lift springs at $152 for the pair. Do those of you that have the springs think it is worth the extra money? I don't know if it being a sport makes any difference, but I don't want the front to sit to high either right know the front is about 3 inches lower than rear. I know the blocks will do 2" but I don't know how much the springs will actually lift it. Sorry to pester everybody with what is going on inside of my little brain. Any help appriciated. Thanks.

i also have a sport and i did the D25 skyjacker springs. i think they are well worth the money. they are 2 1/2 inch springs i can clear my 315s with no problems.

If you think you'll ever get a lift kit, my advice to you is to get spacers instead of replacing the springs. Find a set of spacers from somebody who is maybe a few months or a year ahead of you and just got a lift kit. He'll have two spacers in great shape that he'll be willing to part with for cheap. That's what I did. Then for $40 or so, you'll be good until you decide to lift the whole truck and you replace the springs with HUGE springs!

It's kind of a trade off. Option 1) If you get the spacers you know that will only lift the front the as much as they intended. Option 2) Let's say that you bought Skyjacker 2.5" coils, they may actually lift your truck more as they are new providing 2.5" of lift over stock "new" springs, possibly. I don't want to start any contraversy here but IMHO I don't want to lift the front of my 7500lb CTD with rubber pucks!! With either product you have to do the exact same work to put either in, so why not make a solid decision on how much lift you want and by springs again just IMHO springs are better, if your ever puttin your truck to the off road test you'll probably feel better knowing that you have new coil springs under there rather than rubber spacers!!!!

It isn't a tradeoff at all. Also, a front leveling kit does not consist of rubber pucks. Mine are metal and are really stout. You seem to be suggesting that people not do a leveling job, but instead raise the front end to be higher than the back! Ugly!

There is 2 diferent kinds of spacers, 1 is the steel kind which is pretty commen, and I even made a set myself! 2. they do make a poly or "rubber" spacer, which is more for the 1/2 tons gassers, the manufactureres say not intended for diesels! I have a buddy that bought a 98 with these poly spacers in place and theyu are starting to get sguishy. gonna replace with steel

I went with steel spacers 2in spacer gives you 2in lift as the old coils have allready saged. as for new coils they will sage over time just how much who knows. had a 80s ford 1/2 ton put 3 sets of coils on that thing and all 3 saged. That is why I did spacers.
