no dimensions it is a long distance sale. I thought it was a 40 but couldnt get the number shown on the exhaust housing to cross anywhere.

Looks a little scared up coming out from the exhaust wheel. If it is a 40 put your shaft and exhaust wheel (1 piece) in it and you can run your exhaust housing and it will all bolt right up. The 40 exhaust wheel is 5mm larger is the only thing that stops you from putting a 35 exhaust housing on it but do the swap and it will fit That's how I made my HX35/40-14cm. They don't make anything smaller than a 16 cm for the HX40, and the one that's on it is the larger flange that wont fit anyway.

Before you buy get some pics of the compressor housing and wheel. get him to take the compressor housing off and get you a pic of the inside of it. The snap ring that holds it on is already off ( you can see it around the center of the turbo)so he can just lift it off. He may have just removed it to do the polish but it may have probs. I would check 1st. If the wheel or housing is messed up then its worth about $0.00.

It my full intention to make this a 35/40 with my parts. Thanks for the input. I think the rest of the turbo looks ok.

The HX-40 has a 60 mm compressor wheel and will make good cool boost to 40psi, the HX-35 has a 56mm wheel and is only efficient to 35psi. this is cheep and you get a quick spooling exhaust housing and everything will bolt right up with no other mods. It will flow more air and keep EGT's down under load and allow you to run more fuel.

Can the same be done with the HY? If not what are my relatively cheap options?

Ok I also see that this is a 12pt nut so does that mean that I will need to go have this balanced with my 35 exhaust wheel on before I can run it?
