software #0. any one try it for long??
hey guys,i tried software 0 to see if i could get any better milage and could only stand it for 1 day then it was back to #8 with the comp on 3/3{seems most reponsive without excess smoke}if software 0 provided some serious fuel gains i mite be tempted to leave it on for longer.i tried software#1 and it seemed kinda noisy, maybe to much timing??.i totally recomend trying #o for awhile then #8 or 9 seems crazy. haaahaaa

I went to 9 to 5 to 7 to 1 in the 1st day then to 4 then 7. I haven't tried 0. I'd only turn that on if I were to line up against Dually Dave =P
Funny thing is mileage has improved with every tank.

I have an hour glass to time you guys in the quarter mile. Maybe even have time for a couple cold ones during the race.I bet the amish with the horse and buggy would be a heck of a race.
My money is on the horse and buggy

I'm running #0 right now, and have been for a month.
I'm doing this to try to delay (not eliminate) the replacement of my clutch. You get used to the low power eventually.
Even with 150hp injectors, I can't MAKE the truck smoke! None!
Lord knows I miss #9 in the worst way. But I can't chance a severe glazing of the clutch and having to TOW my truck to the trans shop, instead of drive it.
Finding a competent clutch installer here in Tampa has been endless frustration, and I need the time that hopefully the low power is buying me.
I think with #0 and Mach 4s, I'm slightly UNDER the original stock HP rating.
Unfortunately, SW#0, still gives you a lot of gain in the idle governor circuit, so even though the engine is gutless, it WILL give you a big fight in resisting speeds below idle.
What this means is that if you pop the clutch in 1st gear with no skinny pedal, SW#0 will give you just as much oats as SW#9-- at least it appears to. Once idle RPM has been achieved, the power disparity is what you'd expect.
So even though SW#0 will make low dyno HP, it's not necessarily that much easier on the clutch in slugging.
As for 1/4 mile times, I'm pretty sure that SW#0 has me putting down solid 19s or worse. Can't imagine what it would be like with stock injectors!!!
