So, why get a Walbro 392 over a 395?
Here's my question:
I'm sold on a Walbro pump. My Carter P4601HP lasted 4 months and is a POS. Everyone seems to go with the Walbro 392 that flows a hellatious amount of fuel, necessitating a separate return line to the tank. The 392 can flow 70gph at 15psi which will recycle a full tank of diesel every 30 minutes. Then I may have to worry about foaming and aeration of the fuel. The 395 costs about the same but flows 30gph at 15psi. The Carter was rated at 100gph at 15psi. I never saw over 8psi at the VP44 transducer. I think the VP44 could handle this much pressure with its 14psi bypass since it's closer to the stock LP range. If I mount the Walbro 395 back near the tank where my Carter is then I can anticipate more than a few psi drop before it gets to the filter. Any ideas?
I only have mild mods and don't anticipate getting much over 350-400HP....
