So what is my road block?

So what is my road block?
We have been playing with a 24v for the first time looking for big power. So far we are stumped, not being able to get over 494 hp.
2001 HO. HX40/55 combo (used the old set-up off the drag truck), injectors, Drag Comp, Holley Black pusher.
History - with stock HX40 we made 410hp on injectors, 467hp with comp on level 1. No gain beyond level 1.
Added twins - made 416hp on injectors, 494 on level 1, no gain beyond that. Fuel pressure to Zero.
Added holley - no change in power except had 15psi instead of zero.
Where do I turn next? Surely we can get over 500hp with a 24v but this one has me shaking my head.

The 55 is too small for a primary charger with the 40.
The HO is somewhat fuel limited past 500 HP
The comp is working, IMO.
Send me the run files. All of them.

I know the comp is working. On the higher levels I see more smoke, just not power. Also, in levels 3-5 we see the "no-defuel" as the drag comp is supposed to do.
I understand the 55 is not the best for big power but we made mid 5's with it on Jeff's 12v. I think these turbo's should be enough to crest 500, wouldn't you?. I was thinking more along the lines of Cam but don't know if it takes a cam to get over 500. Anyone?
I am at an area with a 24v I have not traveled. I know we have BIG fuel, now just got to burn it. Who is making more than 500 on diesel with a 24v? Did it require a cam? Does this 500 area seem to be the big hurdle with a 24v? Educate me.
What is the highest known 24v on #2 only?

David Lange is 522 on one turbo, Diesel only
Mike Dransfield was 500 plus one turbo, Diesel only.
Ryan something or another did 506, one turbo. Diesel only.
Both of these are on a DynoJet 248C with little or NO correction factor. Mikes was actually 3% negative. I dont know about Davids for certain, but it was low or negative Im sure.
May will mark the second year since we got 531 from a single B-1 and Mach 4's. NO correction factor. About 60 degrees outside. DynoJet 248C.
The HO pump is limited by its smaller plungers and barrels. 7mm VS the 7.5's in the SO. The HO makes a slightly higher pressure, but the volume is less.
All three of the trucks above are using a stock cam.
I know of several HO's that have gone to 490 on the stock cam, with a single turbo, but I dont remember the DynoJet figures on correction.

Dave, I to feel it is your injection pump. You contact Battering Ram by pm or Piers about the hi flow vp44. I know Horace went from 493 to 617 by using the pump and Dons injectors with his twins. Are you running twins or a hybred 55? To get 600 you will need at least a ht3b on the bottom if you do have twins. Tim

There are pro's and con's for this, but do some research and you'll find some useful info.
Good luck,

What boost are you running? Are you getting more smoke on WOT under boost when going up the levels or just more off-boost smoke? How do your EGTs change when going higher levels?
Have you checked the pump wire connection of hte comp- the change from comp off to level one sounds like an EZ.

Remember when we dyno'd your truck in Claremont? Didn't we see best power at or near best at like level 6? I remember from the past that many trucks would dyno as well at 6 or 7 and not really gain anything above that. It's like the same thing here, except above level 1 (comp)we are seeing nothing but more heat, more smoke, and 5 more HP, maybe.
I know we are under turbo'd for big boost. We are making the 490's with about 50 psi. This truck has no o-ring so we want to limit the pressure. From what you guys have seen, I guess we'll need to improve boost to exceed the 490's?
Thanks,

How big is the exhaust housing on the HX55? It does seem that you are choking it. At 50psi you might have run up against a backpressure wall, might want to check backpressure. 24v's are definantly a lot more challenging to make big hp numbers with. With the turbos and pump I have now I make 500hp on injectors only! You are definantly going to need those bigger plungers and barrels if you want to get much more hp than you have now. You can either go to a high performance pump or one of a 5 speed or auto. I ran up against a 500hp wall with my old pump and injectors and I was able to get past it with some new nozzles and pump.
