Smarty....idle up when cold
WWhhoo hooo. I have idle up and didn't know it. It was about 15 F today and the truck had sat for about 14 hours. I started it up and just let it idle so I could get out and brush off the snow. After about 15-20 sec the motor began increasing idle speed by itself.!!! all the way up to 1300 rpm.
I swept off the snow for about 5 minutes or so and got back in. The temp gage was just moving off the peg and the idle was still at 1300. The truck was up against the curb in about a foot of frozen slush. I tried backing up and going forward but it was tough going against the curb. I finally got the right dual up on the curb and I was able to back up about 50 yds to the intersection and got out. By then the truck was warmed up.
Anyway I love the Smarty again. I can't wait untill it is -15 now. haha Maybe it will get into 3 cyl mode.
I just bumped the fuel pedal and it dropped right back to normal idle.

D'oh!
The factory software should be able to disable it. A friend I work with, is a former Chrysler automotive tech and he went back to his old shop (dealership) and enabled the highidle features on his newly aquired 2nd Gen with the ******* ship software. so you should be able to reverse it.........thats funny though bet that was a surprise to have it ramp up on its own
