Smarty and boost

I don't know about you guys but with the smarty on sw#6 and box off i can hit 38 psi on the guage, and in a hurry. I turned the box on to see what I could get and on 2x3 i can easily hit 45 psi. I know thats way more than the little Hy can handle, but i mean it is crazy. Also the tranny shifts much smoother now. This Marco is a genius.

O.K... that's simply insane. I can only get 37psi and I have Smarty and DD3's....

i was thinking the same thing. I don't know why It gets that high. But I am not complaining. I rarely take it over 30 psi.

#1 question would be where is your gauge plumbed in to?

#2, I've watched trucks hit those kind of numbers with stock turbos, only problem is they were HX-35's..... how are you getting 40+ out of an HY?? and how high are your EGT's??

i can hit 40+ lbs with just my drag box on 2 / 2 and mine is plumb in to the intake it will get higher if i turn up the box but whats the point after 45 lbs you loose power any way. and who looks at that egt gauge anyways

I don't know how i am getting 40+. maybe its the air out here.
I realize it is out of its efficiency range when that high. I have
noticed egt's run about 200 degrees hotter now.

With the "tiny" HY-35 on automatics (asked about above), your over reving it at boost greater than about 32-34 psi. No added HP and super heated air for higher EGT's.
And over 3/4 throttle...I drive, soley, by my EGT gauge.

TWODIESELS - no difference, as I understand it, between power with Smarty on #4...#6....or #8. Just comes in a little slower! It's not like your comp box with less fueling on lower settings. So your boost SHOULD be same (with comp off) on all three settings??

AND I agree with you. Marco is a genius.
