Have any of you guys run a timing chip with the smarty on odd numbers? If so what happens? Thanks,

I think timing rattle would be the first thing you'd notice. It'd would be hard on the head gasket due to increased cylinder pressure.

I'd expect a lot of timing rattle and a decrease in power. Oh, and a shortlived HG if you run it hard.

Are you looking at running the edge juice/att with the smarty?

No I have the smarty and was just curious of the amount of timing each chip does. Does anyone know why when I have the smarty on 4-8 with the hot juice on I like lose power until I let off the throttle. After I start backing off the truck like takes off.

I've run the Smarty odds with an Edge EZ, not too bad. It had some timing rattle, but it wasn't bad. You can only get so much timing via the electronics from my understanding. The only other way is to use a different key number in the vp44, like what the HRVP uses.

That's just a smarty trait. From what I've gathered it's because he compresses the throttle so when the pedal is on the floor it's reading say 120% and it doesn't know what to do. So when you back off your back at 100% and the truck knows how to add fuel. I know that's a very rough, horrible explanation but it's all I can think of after 2 hours of accounting homework.

No its not when I am at full throttle. It is just like over half throttle but the percentage on my monitor is correct.
