I ran my EZ and Smarty for a few days and it ran fine. Didn't notice much, if any more smoke then with just the EZ. If you read here, the timing on the Smarty is superior to the EZ, thus, the EZ is not needed. With just the Smarty on #5 and #7 you can get quiet a bit of smoke if you lug it, but if you run the RPM's up to 2500 or so, you don't get much smoke. I haven't dynoed with just the Smarty, but I'm sure some have.
It seems that the popular stack with the Smarty is the TST.

i have downloaded the smary onto dad's truck which has the ez and bosch 300's and didnt notice a 650 dollar improvement. Little quicker throttle responce and more smoke, but not worth it IMO
Now, you can sell the EZ and buy the smarty and that would be much better. If you want to stack something with the smarty, make it the TST like crobtex said. Now that stack is worth it!
also, throw a set of injectors on top of that and you'll have a very nice truck!

It all depends if you want top in, or bottom end. you use the bottom end of the smarty more, but if you want all out top in, then it's the comp.OORRR get the smarty for timing and a tst comp for all out fuel and have the best of both worlds. then you will need a bigger turbo (s) and better clutch and DEEP pockets it's a drug so you better RUN before you get hooked. It's done got me and most others on here, SO save your self and RUN before it eats you and your wallet too

If its power and smoke you're looking for its injectors you want.
Smarty is more about drivability. Turbo wants to spool, motor wants to rev, and defueling is gone.

another main reason im considering the smarty is because it doesnt tap the injection pump, that worries me on the other boxes, i know i got the fass system but still i worry bout killing the IP with a comp. i dont know if it will do it or not since i have the fass.

That brings up a question: After tapping the wire, does the VP sometimes go bad because of the fuel flow, or due to strain on the electronics? Any one know?

If you do not want to tap the pump wire, the Smarty is the best way to go. I would sell the EZ and get some money back. I dynoed my truck with the smarty on 9 Saturday and then I dynoed with it stacked( smarty on 2) with the EZ I have and there is only a 3-6 HP Increase when stacked. #2 made the best power when stacking with the EZ.
