smaller turbo and smarty ASAP

just got back from my first dyno run ever with this truck and boy do i need to make some changes. my numbers arent shabby but could be SO much better with a smaller turbo and a smarty. this modified hx-55 is JUNK IMO...but thats another discussion

now for the numbers

1st run-no comp box
356.24hp/683.20tq...not too bad for no box

2nd run- comp box on 5x5
429.83hp/789.54tq

3rd run- same as second run
430.29hp/789.59tq

pretty consistent for the 2nd and 3rd runs, but i think with a few minor changes i can get it closer to 500/900 range

i should be higher, but the tires absorb a little HP and the lag of that turbo is killing me, with a comp box on the highest level im only gaining 60hp and 100tq at the wheels. now i also understand that the dyno operator was running all the 6spd trucks in 6th gear rather than 5th gear (1:1 direct drive) so that may be part of it. overall it was an awesome day with about 60 or so trucks and 30-some hitting the dyno.

First off I'm pressed with your no comp dyno run. With my 100hp injectors I only did 230hp with no comp. But I went up to 398hp with the comp on 5x5. A smarty and a smaller turbo should really help you.

i dont wanna give away the info but a another member here made some impressive runs with his particular set-up which REALLY suprised me...and he was all smiles to prove he could beat me.

im sure we will see his post later this evening

was there lots of smaoke on the first run? 150HP injectors and smarty should be closer to 400 HP

a little smoke at first then cleared up...with the comp on i blacked out the parking lot until about 2200rpms then it started to clear

as soon as i sell these 2 turbos ill have the cash for a phat shaft 64 and smarty

Do you tow with your truck at all? If not, have you considered just trying a bigger set of sticks?
