Smaller Turbo Fitting

Smaller Turbo Fitting
Hey do any of you guys put a smaller fitting on the turbo to let it hold some of the boost when you shift to the next gear? Also I changed out the air filter this weekend. I just put a fram replacement in there because I have heard some negative feelings on the K&N. Is it ok to put a high-flow air filter on these trucks? Finally what have you guys done to combat the sagging front ends. Would 1 ton springs work for my 3/4 ton of should I just get a leveling kit? Thanks for the info.

the only draw back to a bigger more free breathing intake/filter system is the nois it makes, it is your answer for "holding more boost between gears" as it will flow so much more freely that it will not slow the turbo as quickly, the K&N is a fine filter if it is properly maintained, some folks will tell you the stock air box will not seal with it but perhaps in the frenzy to install their new filter they omitted the tube of grease to insure sealing against the airbox. when you lose that stock filter you will lower egts and have have quicker spool up and maybe a tiny little pit more poop.
the sagging frontend can be cured with a leveling kit consisting of a spring spacer...FYI this will upset you caster and your truck will not steer as well and possibly expierience "THE DEATH WOBBLE" so get your caster back to spec or you'll be sorry!
PS please update your signature to show your rig and mods to help diagnose your situation.

Sig is updated. Oh the muffler is MIA but I am not to sure what the point of removing the silencer ring is. Has anyone put that smaller turbo fitting on their truck? How hard is it to get the caster back in spec?

I ran 2" rough country spacers and never had a problem with alignment or death wobble. I used to run "D" rated 315-75-16 but have since moved back to the 265's "E". I only did that to try and extended the life of the clutch. I plan to move back up to 285's or 305 next time around. As for the filter, have you looked at the BHAF. I run the NAPA 2790 paper filter. I get them for $35 each and have pictures on my website to give you an idea.
