Skyjacker Stablizer & Shocks

I experienced death wobble on the way back from Ohio last Sunday and I do not care to experience it again.

On my list of stuff that needs replacement is the steering stablizer and shocks. I know from my recent install of the D25 coils that I need front shocks, and the stablizer has been gone for a while I believe.

What do you guys think about Skyjacker Softride Hydro's? They seem to make reputable products.

I know BigBadDodge runs Skyjacker Hydro's all over his rig. Anybody else have any experience with them?

I would stay away from them, and go with a name brand. Skyjacker does not make shocks, they just buy cheap ones and paint there name on them so they can sell a complete lift kity at a competitive price. If not a ranch RS 9000X, then maybe a 5100 or 5150 bilstein.

Bilstein's ride rough from everything I've heard, plus they are too expensive. Hell Rancho's are less than Bilsteins, and Rancho's are about the most expensive aftermarket 4x4 shock. I posted this on TDR as well and got a reply from a friend of mine up north who really beats ::ahem:: uses his truck and he highly praise's them so I'm ordering tomorrow. ;D

Re:Skyjacker Stablizer & Shocks

I've worn out two sets of front shock in 18K miles, Rancho 5000s and 9000s. Don't hold up off-road under the diesel and the front-end design. Right now I've got Gabriel MaxControl monotubes on the front, not because I like Gabriel, but because I was passing through Elko, Nevada, and it was an emergency. Just installed Skyjacker brackets for dual front shocks. Believe it or not, the Gabriels seem to work well, and I found another pair for cheap. Guess I'll see if four Gabriel monotubes work better than two Ranchos.

On the steering stabilizer, I've got Skyjacker duals. Along with a DSS, they've done a lot to get rid of bad road habits.
