Single vs Twin Disc Clutch

I am having a hard time making up my mind on this. I have never drove a truck with a twin disc in it and i need some more imput. I am looking for smooth engagement for backing to trailers and pulling in to my snowplow mount. I need to be able to creep in an inch at a time. How much slower are they to shift, i will be snowplowing with this truck and need to be able to hit reverse fairly quickley. How are they on the street for the once in a while need to speed shift. I will be working my way up to the 450-500 hp range down the road and would still like some work truck manners.

GO South Bend DD 3250 for towing and mild playing and drive ability 3600 for moderate to frequent performance play and 3850 if you are going to be at the track all the time breaking stuff I have the 3250 and pull a trailer with it most of the time and it is every bit as good as the stock as far as shifting, although starting out can be a little grabby with the Smarty on but I love it and would recommend the DD any day! Better bang for the buck and remember you get what you pay for!!

I am thinking about giving Valair a try, i talked to Kevin there for about 40 minutes last week, they seem like decent guys that stand behind there product. In all the posts i searched in the forum i did not find a bad word about there products or service. They have a dual disc coming soon and it has a better price tag then a SB. I have nothing against SB but this stuff adds up fast. Thanks for the replys Dave

Thanks for the offer fox man i may have to take you up on it, i know the area and get there time to time, i drive straight truck out of Monticello. My main concern is shifting from 1st or 2nd to reverse. While plowing its nice to get off the pile fast. Do you have to wait for it to stop spinning, or is it not to bad, like an extra second or 2.

I plowed with a dual disk for about 5 years and never had a problem, the speed shifting is more of a problem when at the higher rpms. There is NO better work truck clutch than a dual disk
