Question Single turbo for 500hp??

what is a good single turbo that will support 500hp+ or will handle these mods to my engine

-435 injectors
-laser cut dvs
-#4 fuel plate
-4k rpm kit
marine head gasket and studs are done.

i was thinking of htts 71 series turbo with the 62 or 64 compressor housing, i don't tow, but this is a daily driver, which one, or is there another turbo i should consider.thanks

71 series 62 mm will support 500 but get a little warm on the top end

64 will be cooler but spool a touch slower

either one is good

If you do cut DV's AND 435's your going to need ATLEAST a 64 IMO. Which pump do you have in your truck? Do you have AFC mods and/or front plug (total rack travel) mods? If you have those things and add the 435's you would be closer to 600 hp potentially with enough air IMO. Forrest on a 215 pump with just AFC mods and DDP4's made 535rwhp on a SPS62.

i have the lowly 160 pump, its a 95 engine i swapped into my 90 diesel, i haven't done any rack or afc mods, i don't know what they are. also i was talking to a diesel shop and they said if you pull the back cover off the pump
that there are some fuel screws that adjust how much fuel your pump pushes, is there any truth to that? and yes i was thinking of a 64 to help feed the fuel, thanks

i was looking on PDR.com and found a custom built 64/14 schwitzer, suppose to handle 550hp, has anyone had any experience with these turbos from PDR? just curious since they are a bit cheaper than some other turbo shops for the same size turbo. thanks

I hadn't noticed before that piers is now selling a modified s300 line, but the prices are comparable to the phatshaft and htt lines of s300 based turbos. You'll find more people here that have run piers holsets, but they are good to deal with and have a good reputation. A phatshaft 64 and htb2 killer b2 should be pretty close.

I run a phatshaft 64/14 on a 24 valve and it works great for cooling 500 hp. II and Htt both offer improved turbines in their lines (super/HT71) for less surge and better top end.
