Take II
Sorry to be so slow to get back, been working lots of ot and just went back to 8's and regained my brain or so I thought, had a large reply ready last night and accidentally closed the tab

No problem with the BD stuff, this is the OEM trans with 180K on it, the BD stuff went in at 50K to work with the exhaust brake, I think the TC is about done

Daves warranty is now 3 year 100,000 mile, it was no time limit before LINK this is a pretty big deal for me, I doubt I'll put on 50K in the next three years

signature600, this was pretty much my thinking, I was also thinking the shifts might be a little softer with the triple disk

Interesting I had not heard that before

Even though I don't race thats good to know, hopefully that equates to a triple not losing mpg, just filled up last night, 17.3 mpg in town, don't want to lose any

Not at all, looking for a full rebuild for what I'm doing with the truck

Things haven't been good for making a living around here for the last few years and money is tight, even so if Goerends was still no time limit I would go with that (and may still) right now I'm considering http://bandmtransmission.com/ one of the nice things about them (besides saving money) is the warranty service, if there's a problem go to any http://www.atra.com/ shop. So decision's not made yet but will be talking to them next week

Thanks for all the feedback

In regards to ATS
not forgotten just way out of my price range
No problem, just mentioning all of the reputable transmission companies. I'd say the biggest thing is find a solid builder in your neck of the woods that builds for one of the aforementioned reputable tranny companies. All build good stuff, however all WILL break. You need the builder to stand behind it and take care of you.

Wouldn't it make sense to make sure 1-4 gears and the tc are up to whatever hp you are sending thru? Do a little research and it is easy to see which way to go! Why listen to web tranny experts?!?
I find your post funny. It seems to me that by the vary nature of his question he is trying to do research, is he not? Although, research via a diesel truck website like DTR may not be to your liking. He seems to be getting a pretty good response. Why the slam on the people trying to answer his question? Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear anyone calling themselves an expert.

Tiger Rag, my thinking exactly, maybe I'll find it

Mike D, spot on, just wanted to hear a few other opinions besides builders, and I am certainly listening to the builders I'm talking to, the last one said he didn't like triple disk converters because he thought they put too much weight on the front pump, interesting idea, not sure I agree with it though

Thanks for all the reply's guys
