silver vs black VP pumps ?
#2
It's not the color of the pump, it's where it was rebuilt. Way back pumps rebuilt in Czechoslovakia were painted black and had a horrible rep. for failing and got the name "black beauty". The stock original pump was silver from Bosch so that's probably were the whole color thing came from.
I ordered a replacement pump from a dealer here in the US and received a CZ pump. I called the shop and asked why I got a pump that was from CZ and they said they keep them in stock to send out if they get behind on their orders for reman pumps. I sent the pump back for a US rebuilt pump. The pump has a stamp on the side to tell which country it came from.

Dont really know the difference, but a good friend of mine replaced his with one back in 03 and was making 613hp with it and had the first of 3 1/4 mile times in the 11's @11.76 on #2 back then. So the truck ran like a freak but it might of been the rest of the truck.
