Silver bullet 62 or Super Phat Shaft turbo?

Right now I'm running an HTT 64/65/14 turbo and am looking into a turbo with a 71 or 74 mm exhaust wheel.
What's the minimum power need to get a Silver 62 to spool good?
If it's too big for my setup, would a sps 62 be a step up or about the same as my current turbo. I am also looking into the sps 64.

The lag of the larger turbine will aggravate driving in the Denver altitude. I'd lean towards a 71mm turbo if given the choice of that or the 74mm.

I don't think you need the 74mm turbine until you get to the larger compressors.

That said, a larger turbine is almost always more efficient-- the lag is the "price of admission" for the efficiency.

jmo--no experience.

lotero; I think with a 24v and the times your posting you can spool a Silver 62.
You selling that sps 62/14? That's the size I think I'm going to get.
I believe it is the same as a HTT "71 series" 64.

I think the next upgrade that I will get has to be twins. How much better can a single really get from a sps?? Or should I say are the Silver bullets that much better???

From what I have been reading and talking to shops, it sounds like if you can spool let's say a 66/65, then you can spool a 64/71 or a 62/74 about the same.
I was told you would notice a bigger difference jumping fom a 62 to 64 or a 64 to 66 than you would going from a 65 to 71 or a 71 to 74. I noticed a slower spool when I went from my 62/65 to the current 64/65.
Make sense?
I have heard nothing but good about Silver Bullets.

i went from a sps 62/14 to a ps 62/14. the ps is much better daily driving turbo. the sps was a bad *** turbo for going from 10-50 psi. it would just light up the boost gauge. it was fun to play with but for everyday driving and towing i like the ps. it just seemed that i had to have my foot in the pedal all the time for the sps to perform.

I guess my thinking is if I'm now used to the spool up of my 64/65 maybe the 62/71 will feel the same.
If it spools that good from 10-50, I want one.
Moules; Do you know what kind of power your making?

GLHS, how well does yours spool the 64/65/14? Are you considering the 62/71/14 or 13ss?

Like I mentioned in the PM, I can spool the 13ss on my 93, just didn't like it as much as the PS62 for blasting around town.

On my 98, the 13ss is very driveable. It's probably a very close comparison on what your seeking, just not sure it's going to be more benefit in the temp dept.

Great discription of the 71 ldp wheeled turbo Moules. I totaly agree with you this turbo in the form I have it is a Hot Rod turbo for sure and if anyone is interested in buying one you had better be ready to keep the rpms up on it. I would love to see how it works with a stick?? If I get tired of it I will just go with the 62/65/13ss,I would bet it would be much more drivable around town...
