I ripped mine out with pliers. Some guys are having luck taking out the retainer ring...not me. and nothing goes in its place. No improvement in HP or MPG. But a little more whistle from the turbo...good luck

I just used two screw drivers and worked my way around and popped it right out..but i also just noticed better sound from turbo and no power increase.

I wouldn't recommend the "rip it out with pliers" method. Removing the retainer ring is a piece of cake and it also gives you the option of putting it back if you want to (not that you'll want to).

If you REALLY want to hear the turbo sing then change out your intake.

So if I remove the ring I'll get a little more of that whistle without the added intake "whooshing" noise, right?
