Should my Con O be slipping with a Comp?

Should my Con O be slipping with a Comp?
I have a SB Con O clutch 13.25 with about 1500 miles on it. I have had it less than 1 month, have pulled no more than 10k lbs. 100 miles and it was professionally installed. My question is: Should my Edge Comp (only power modification) be slipping it? I considered a Con OFE but the dealer said I wouldnt be happy while towing. I really hate to downgrade from my comp but I cannot afford another $1000 clutch/installation and I dont have the self control to leave the comp on a low level. It doesnt slip consistently......only sometimes and typically in 3rd or 4th gear. I dont race the truck by any means but I do have a spirited driving style. Can anyone give me any advice other than going to an EZ? Is my clutch ruined once its been slipped?
Thanks guys,
Brady

SBC says its rated for 350hp/750tq (and most SBC customer observations say their clutches have held more than their rated levels) so it should be holding your comp.
did you break it in properly? maybe it wasnt as clean as it should have been before install?
if you catch it slipping once youre moving, get off the power...if you keep your foot down while its slipping, youre killing it.
also, every time you start from a stop you are slipping your clutch (i almost always start in 1st gear to lessen the amount of slip).

Somethings wrong.. you shouldnt be able to slip that with just a comp box. Southbends are rated very modestly.
Im not sure about these trucks, but i know i had clutch slipping issues in a car of mine due to a rear main oil seal leakage..
When i had my OFE put in he was nice enough to recommend to do the engine seal while in there...
Maybe youre seeping some oil onto the clutch.

I don't think you should be slipping your clutch either with just a Comp. I love my OFE and it doesn't chatter a whole lot at all. Almost none when I start in 1st gear. I think you'd like it. Plus you'll always have room to grow!

I wouldnt mind an ofe but ive already got the con o installed and im out of money.
I had also heard the SB clutches are rated conservatively.....and mine is in a relatively light truck compared to a 4x4 LB. The guy at the trans. shop told me there was no sign of leakage out of the rear main. I have been taking it pretty easy lately on the clutch and Ive always let out if i even thought it was in a position to start slipping again. Im still kind of worried about whats going to happen to it when I start towing further and heavier.

if it is a defect in the clutch peter WILL take care of you. i have a buddy with an ofe that spun the hub out of it and i need to get ahold of him. he has done me VERY good in the past and im sure he will do the same for you

I have heard Southbend's customer service is incredible. I just really hate to have the clutch out again and I cant think of a defect in the clutch that would cause it to slip.....the hub is def. not spun out of it. It feels much different than it did when it was new also. What could be defective about the clutch that would make it fail now that wouldnt be viewed as normal wear and tear?

If the slave/master is weak you can't disengage it all the way. That will make it had to put in gear. best bet is to call Peter and talk it over with him.
