Just read your manual. You will find recommended cool down times.I think 3-5 minutes is only after extreme use and very light use requires none. I always wait at least 30 seconds before shutting down.

Turbo timing devices? When you let the engine idle you are just lowering the EGTs and the temperature of the engine in general allowing cool oil to flow to the turbo. If you just shut it off you can actually have a temperature spike (increase). It is the high temperature that can be detrimental to the turbo. If there was such a timing device it would just be something that would shut down the engine after it had properly cooled. Just follow the recommended times in your manual and all we be fine.

Genos Garage has two different ones. Diesel Turbo Life Savers is what they call them. Located under the drivetrain section. I have one in my truck. You just push the button 1 - 5 times depending on how long you want the truck to remain idling, in minutes, after shutting it down. It's a nice feature, the price kinda' sucks though. ;D

[/quote]You could probably easily do 3 of the 5 in the truck waiting for it to cool down. Take time management to new levels.
