I do have a BD unit I'm going to throw on this weekend. We'll see how I like it afterwards, this tranny is hard to shift as it is with the DD clutch and brand new synchros
That's exactly why I removed mine and sold it off. With a single disk clutch it works fine. But like you said, my dual disk is also harder to shift. And it was impossible to shift with the stort shifter installed...I hated it, made my arm hurt.

Thumbs down

You can have mine...if you come pull it out! As soon as the weather warms a little, I'm going back stock...Yeah, it's a shorter shift, but after about 3 months, I still have problems getting to 3rd gear...I have to double stick it sometimes to get it to go...not good when you want to get from 2nd to 3rd quick... Keep your eyes open on the classifieds in the next month or so, mine'll be in there cheap...

My bad!!!

Number is 236-9444, guess it helps if I look at the right part of the business card.

DPS stands for Diesel Performance Specialists. I can't remember off the top of my head what I paid for this rig but I know it was cheaper than BD's.

DPS makes a full height spacer for their shifter instaed of stacking a bunch of shims like BD does. DPS also puts a bend in the shifter shaft below the pivot point that BD never did. I don't know if BD ever changed their kits to mimic DPS's. I've had my shifter in for almost 2 years and have had zero problems.

BD's is a spacer too, not shims.

I installed the BD Short Shifter yesterday, and drove it about 80 miles after that.

Preliminary results are I LOVE IT. It really made the 5 speed shift alot quicker. Now all I need to do is get this DD clutch to where it will shift like I have some synchros.

This thing is still acting like I'm not even useing the clutch, and it's freakin hard to get in gear. I changed the master cylinder, will change the slave sometime this week and see if that helps.

Anyone else know of something I should look for?
Thanks,
Chris
