Short shift for 2nd gen 12v

Are there any short shift kits for the second gen 12 valves? If not, is there anything else I can do to modify it to make it shorter. Because it is so slow to shift. Thanks

What year??

The 98-up's can use the BD Short Shift...anything older than that and the top cover on the transmission is different, and it won't work!

You can just switch to the newer style transmission cover.

Yes you can...I did in my old 95 before I swapped in a NV6500

Make sure it's a Dodge Top Cover...we tried putting one on my Brother's Chevy, and eveything looked right, and it bolted on, but it didn't shift right. It would stick in 1st, 3rd, or 5th for some reason at different times!

I paid $200 for mine...I got it from the shop that rebuilt the NV4500!

I would think that any rebuilder that sees NV4500s in volume would be able to hook you up with a newer style cover at a reasonable cost.

They built 2 tranny's for me...no problems yet, and both are doing HD towing and hauling duty!
