shopping for LP PSI guage
Dads bday is in a couple of weeks and thought I might get a couple of guages for his 02. Looking for sugestions on a lift pump pressure guage and mounting for it. Just something nice but simple to install.
I know 1st gen stuff but don't know what to look for when I get to the "new" stuff.
Thanks

Just a plain ole guy
I got an autometer 2660 kit. Came with everthing you need. Just remove the forward most 1/8" plug in the top of the filter housing. get some liquid teflon, lightly coat the threads and screw it in. Don't use tape. if a peice comes loose it goes into the VP44.
I made a diamond plate bracket to go right by my right foot, next to my brake controller to hold it and a trans temp gauge. I love it. It was about $235 ordered thru Autozone. If he's pulling anything get him a trans temp gauge too. It could potentially save him a $2000 rebuild.

I got a wika industrial 2.5" gauge that is 2%/1%/2% accuracy over the entire range (made in the US). This is a mechanical gauge that has a hose running from the vp 44 into the cab to the guage. Yes, i know a lot of people don't like this fluid in the cab method, but accuracy is better than anything. At first I got a cyberdyne electrical gauge and it was off as much as 50% in part of the range and when I called cyberdyne they said that was normal? So i returned it and went this route. The guages are cheap ($15.85) liquid filled with brass internal parts. I got some 5000psi hydraulic hose at northern tool, ($15.00 total) and a tapped banjo bolt from geno's to hook it all up. This guage system is super accurate and will react very quickly to pressure changes.

Andy, you can get a regular mechanical FP guage for $30-45 and the fittings and such should be around $20-25 (dont forget a needle valve to dampen VP-44 pulses)

so a guage like this in other words:

Then an 1/8" Needle, and 1/8 line. Any recomendations on where to go for the line? Didn't see any on that site.
Did on this one though, expensive piece of hose!

Mechanical guages dont lie. Withan electric you generally need to have a mechanical setup to verify the reading when the guage hiccups.
For line, you can use 1/8" DOT air brake line. Slid some 1/4" tubing over it for abrasion resistance and youre good to go.

....here's what I did on my 01, and it will work on your 02 as well. See my picts for my gauge.
Purchased autometer 0-15 psi gauge $37.00
Steering column pod, also autometer. $30.00
5ft of 1/4" hp fuel line with fittings from a custom hose shop $20.00
I do need to add a needle valve to dampen the gauge some, but noise hasn't been an issue so far (six months). Not as cheap as some of the suggestions, but it ends up being a nice clean easy install. The hose shop that is local to me had the schrader valve end so that I could simply screw the hose on to the test port at the VP injection pump.
