Have had 5100 bilisteins for about a year now and really do like them maybe a little stiff for some but handles alot better than the org. that was on it.

I didnt have the Bilsteins per say but I did have the KYB Monomax's that are, as I understand, identical by spec's to the Bilsteins. I hated them. Sorry for being harsh (no pun intended) but they were so stiff in the rear that it made driving the truck literaly no fun. After a few thousand miles of that, I went and changed to the RS 9000X's.

Heard the Edelbrocks aren't worth the money either....very harsh ride.
I'm going with 2" body Fox shocks as soon as my upper mounts are fabricated, but they're $180 each plus $35 of so each for custom valving. Good news is they'll be the last set of shocks I ever put on the truck, 'cause they're re-buildable.
A custom valved shock is the only way you'll ever be truly happy with the ride quality......

If you buy shocks that are comfortable with an empty truck they will be inadequate when you have a load. If your shocks are designed for a good load, they will be too harsh when you are empty. Unfortunately I don't think the makers will tell you what condition their shocks are designed for, even if your truck always weighs the same. I like my Rancho 9000 adjustable.
I used Bilsteins, Konis, KYBs on sports cars, great shocks when they are matched to the weight.

I ran the superlift soft rides and they worked well even towing, i would not recommend nor run another set of the Rancho 9000s but thats me. the valve ***** were constantly getting packed with ice freezing up or getting knocked off. they worked great for the first 5000-10k miles then i never could get them to stay stiff especially for towing plus i used to really get tired of climbing under the truck to adjust them for towing in the snow especially, another thing i think that the downside to adjustables is that you have to adjust all the time like when the highway goes from smooth to 20-30 miles of dirt and construction pot holes ect i think that also led to the premature failure because i would have them set on 2 or 3 for soft ride n a long empty road trip and then i hit construction for a long stretch like that finding a spot to pull over and adjust my shocks wasnt happening. my .02 good concept but i like automatic adjusting valvebodys.
we just put the bilisteins on my friends ford, they seem to be working pretty well and are a far cry of an improvement from stock
