Shocks for a 2wd dually

My dad is in the process of getting some new shocks for his 96 dually with 250k miles and the original shocks . I was wonderin what kind of shocks you 2wd guys are runnin, where you got em, and how much they cost. I dont have any experience with air ride (except on the horse trailer) and this may be an aspect he would like to explore if the cost is comperable. Anything you guys would like to offer up will be much appreciated .

Had rancho rs 5000's in my two previous trucks (both 4wd though). Good shock, so I'm sure they will work fine for the 2wd.

Good luck

I have the old 5 position Rancho 9000's on my 2WD 3500. Settings of 3 front/2 rear give an excellent ride with better rebound control than stock when empty, and settings of 4 front/5 rear snub everything down tight for towing our 13,500 lb 5th wheel. With the large variance in weights, the adjustability of the Ranchos was important for us. If this isn't a factor, some people like the Bilsteins.

Here

They have a new autoleveling system with remote bag control they sent me yesterday to proto its definately sweet.

You want coolride up front and air bar HD in the rear BUT the bags they sell for the front hit EVERYTHING and blow. You need to use the bags Im running if your gonna do it let me know and I'll take one of my bags out to get the size.

Scott,

I ordered mine from 4WheelParts in 2002. I believe the 2WD Ranchos have different part numbers, but they ought to have the new 9 position Rancho 9000's available for the 2WD's.
