send pump off for GSK???

I talked to my local Diesel tech. about puting a GSK in my truck in sig and he told me i would have to send it off and be down for around a week and that i was lookin at about $1200 any truth to this?

Woah!!!! For a governor spring kit? That sounds like a genuine rip off. Took my less than an hour to put my kit in???

thats what i thought thanks guys. any of you time your pump on your own, if so how hard and how much time am i lookin at? thank you in advance

I have the tools to do it but havent got that far yet. Timing is pretty envolved using a dail indicator to measure lift. The price of tools make it kinda hard to justify if you only plan to time one vehicle. There is a TSB that outlines the procedure that I am sure a search will bring up.

I would say if you never did it...at least 3-4hrs (thats what it took me but I'm not the quickest)

Took me the same amount of time

If you are that uncomfortable in working on the pump and the truck, just remove it and do it on the side, the hardest thing is puttin it all back together..
