Thumbs up Scotty Smart Fuel Line Kit

Well...I installed the Scotty Smart Fuel Line Kit on Saturday morning. Very easy install. The hardest part for me was getting the fitting to thread into the back side of the lift pump (my fault). I couldn't seem to line it up right but finally got it.

The numbers below are after the truck had been warmed up by driving for a bit this morning. When I first start the truck in the morning, the numbers are about 1# less.

Before install:
11# idle
10# cruise
7.5# wot

After install:
13# idle
11# cruise
9.5# wot

These new numbers make me VERY HAPPY!! If/when this lift pump goes bad, I'll be going to one of the pusher pumps (FASS, Holley, Carter).

Thanks Scotty for all your help.

Are you getting your FP #'s at the fuel filter canister or the pump inlet?

No, just phone calls and emails. I keep hearing some people on this site mentioning how big Scotty is. Is he a bodybuilder or something?

Yes.. Weee Scotty.

Here is a photo of Scotty unloading a "practice" lifting ball out of WLD RYD..

Concrete/lead ball

This was taken at the DTR meet in Red Deer back in November 04.

I think the "425" number on the side has something to do with the weight..

The fuel line kit works extrememly well. I have one as well and it works so well I don't need any special pumps pushers or anything best bang for the buck especially on a new lift pump.

I'll have to post the pic of me and NN when he came through town and we got on some lasagna at my place. For scale-- I'm 6'1", about 215#. Remind me to post it later, as I can't from this comp.

Anyway, those FPs sound a little low for what you should get with a healthy LP. I had similar numbers BEFORE installation of my Max Flow system.

After the Max-flow, I'm get:

18-19psi idle (warm-- cold is lower)

14-16 cruise

11 WOT

That said, you aren't starving your pump. You have plenty of FP to keep your VP cool, lubed, and happy.

How much does one of these systems cost and what all does it replace exactly?

new lines from tank to pump and banjo's are scrapped and adapters to JIC are used. A bracket to mount the Holley blue pump to the frame is included.

You need to supply a holley pump and a cummins pigtail.

It doesn't replace the whole line from the tank. Just down to the first hard line which is under the truck about where the floorboard is.
