Scotty II
Does anyone know if the Scotty II can be had with the new Pro-Guard 7 AFE Filter?
The old BHAF isn't quite doing it for me anymore and it's time to update the air intake, but I'd really like to get the new Pro-Guard 7 filter that AFE now offers.
Thanks

Re:Scotty II
One thing to keep in mind about the aFe standard series: No matter what test conditions we've run these things in, the oil analysis has always come back identical or near identical to the stock air filter (we had 1 test result with silicate levels 1% greater than stock). With some new [censored] systems that we're working on, we'll be able to use the ProGuard 7 stuff, but I'm not particularly excited about it. Reduced airflow with filtration qualities that are just not needed just seems like a good way to reduce the effectiveness of an air system.

I've had problems with the K&N in the past and I'm just a tad bit leary on going back to an oiled filter. That's why I was looking at the Pro-Guard 7 filter, thought it would be just a little better than the regular aFe.
I'll think a little more about it.

Re:Scotty II
Darrellb, I have had a aFe filter in my Scotty1 and 2 for over 100K and because of a turbo going south I'm rebuilding my Mighty Cummins. With 164K on this engine there is no signs of dirt that got through the regular aFe.
The aFe filter a lot better than the K&Ns.
I am more than alittle sold on the Scotty 2 Air Systems they reduce EGTs and cool down times as stated. They work!!!
I will have Piers twins on mine when I get it back together and I'm more than a little bummed that my Scotty 2 won't work because the filter is too large :'( Although if it wasn't it looks as if the Scotty housing would work.

I'm runnin a Scotty II and you saw mine on the Dyno.
I love the reduction in temps I got from mine and I was runnin a K/N before that.
With the smoke I'm pumpin I had to have and it worked as stated.
But soon I'll be puttin a little more air in
So I'll clear up some of that smoke.
