scotty air
when a hole is cut to feed the scotty thru the wiper cowl, is this the only place it draws air from?
Up here it is not uncommon to have ice 2"thick and /or this space filled every morning with snow. what prevents the water and snow from getting sucked into the air filter?

I've heard of up to 250° reductions. It depends on how hard you are working the truck.
If you have a stock truck. you probably won't notice any egt relief. A Bombed truck towing 16K will see a big help.

Herb, my last reservation of the Scotty II has been resolved with the switch from an oiled gauze element to an oiled foam one.
The gripe with foam elements is almost NEVER their filtration. Usually the complaint is frequent cleaning or airflow.
The UNI air filter is the best oiled foam that you can get. Baja racers trust them, so I'm guessing the filtration AND flow are up to par.
Rod has reported good initial results with the foam filter, dropping EGT yet another 75-100 degress over even the AFE-equipped Scotty.
IMHO, we now have the complete picture, and the ultimate air intake system for single turbo trucks has finally come to be.
Since you work your truck, you might see even 300 degree reductions!! There's too many variable to make anything other than a WAG.
