taken,
According to your sig, the only bombing you have done is a straight pipe. According to the Wildcat website the Scotty was: "Designed for working and performance enhanced Dodge diesels....". If you do not have major performance mods, I do not think you will see the EGT reduction mentioned, I believe Scotty will be the first to tell you that.

The turbo whine in the cab if the Scotty firewall hole is cut is unbearable for some folks including myself. Not so bad just tooling around town but on a long highway cruise it will drive most people nuts. I've had passengers ask what's wrong with my truck. Too bad because it's the best filter system out there.
Good news is the TAG can almost totally eliminate the noise and offers other benefits as well. Scotty and TAG are an excellent combination.

Interesting. This is the first time I've read about TAG. Very interesting reading.

If you are serious Jack, there has been some really good discussion about the TAG in the past.

Such as HERE .

And a pretty good "real world test" by Infidel HERE .

That ought to keep you busy for a while.

The Scotty will work better the more power you throw at it.
You can also put the insulation flap back over the cowl hole when you want if the noise is too loud. The TAG allows pretty much anyone with sensitive hearing to use it wide open with both inlets.
You will see some reduction in EGT with just the fender inlet but optimum is with both inlets.

I will not suggest the Scotty if you plan to stay stock or near stock...the BHAF does great up to about 75 added HP. The Scotty will out perform all others out there. I know this from testing and from folks that call and order and tell me what else they tried.

We are going to be releasing the new CUSTOM for the Scotty Systems UNI filters very soon. Prototyping and testing always takes longer then planned. A dual stage foam filter that is showing even greater egt reduction then what has been used previously. higher quality overall too. Same filters approved and used in the fine silt of BAJA racing.

Of course I am bias to this product. It works as I say it does.

Scotty

Has anyone tried cutting a hole in the firewall like you do for the scotty, but while using a bhaf? im shure its not as good as the scotty, but it might be better than just the bhaf with no hole. It should provide more cool air under the hood.
thanks, Matt
