what is the difference between these two transmissions????
sorry for the 2nd gen? question but this tranny is on a sort of... Frankenstein'd setup LOL

As far as I know the front section is pretty much the same.
Valve body is different, 47RH being hydraulically controlled and 47RE being electronically controlled.
Overdrive section is different and shorter on a 47RE, 47RE has no governer in it like the 47RH has. Only a speed sensor.

What are you going to install it in?
One more thing, the 47RH only has 3 pins for controlling lockup and overdrive.
The 47RE has something like 8 or 10 pins, I can't recall right now. And a governer pressure transducer and governer pressure selinoid.

This is going back in a Chevy. Guy had installed it about 5yrs ago. I'll have to check those pins.... he rigged a box with 3 switches, one for 1st, OD, and lockup... but I'm not sure if it was a simple three wire deal or not, I wrapped it up and haven't unwrapped the tranny yet.
