S400: 83mm Turbine 91mm Compressor

S400: 83mm Turbine 91mm Compressor
Schwitzer S400: 83mm Turbine 91mm Compressor
Can someone tell me what large deisel this is off of originally? Ive done some reaserch, and i see the s400 size is on the:
Detroit Diesel series 60 11.1L
Mack E7 series engines
CAT C-12
The question is what engine/horsepower did the S400 83/91mm turbo come on as the OEM turbocharger? I need to find and purchase that engine.
I need the engine just to spin the revolutionary oil-free turbocharger my company builds.

It is also used on the Detriot Series 60 12.7 liter and the new 14 liters.
There are hundreds of different S400's made.
Oil free??? Can you expand on that... Pics maybe?

I need to find ANY ENGINE with an s400 family turbo with the 91mm comp and the 83mm turbine. I have called millions of places and no one has a clue.
Are you telling me the seris 60 has those wheels or just an s400?

Look man, there is a possibility that i am not an idiot.
That dimension comes from the original Schwitzer blueprint for the machining of the wheel, im pretty sure its right. BUT just to be sure i put the turbine and shaft in a vee block with a tenth indicator on a height gauge on a granite surface plate, and sure enough 83mm. Go figure.
For YOUR information there are 4 main rotor groups for the S400 lineup
83/91
87/96
91/100
96/105
And if you want to go huge the biggest S600:
144mm Turbine / 158mm compressor

What's the BW PN# for that turbo? It looks like BW lists just the S60 (Detroit 60 Series) for that entire family. Perhaps a call to your local Detroit dealer would help? My local dealer was very happy to sell me any parts even though I only knew my s400 came from a 60 series Detriot. They also asked the application and were rather stumped when I said a Dodge with a CTD. Then the service manager drooled over the twins setup when I arrived later in the afternoon.
Here's from the BW website:
BW part no.: * 167735
OEM part no.: 23504966
Manufacturer: Detroit Diesel
Vehicle: Truck
Engine: S60
From:
Power (KW/HP): 331/450

Here's my friendly neighborhood Detroit dealer if you'd like to call:

Thank you very much brandon. I have gone that route, i called mack and cat dealers, but not DD. Perhaps that should be my next call. You happen to know what wheel sizes you have? Volute A/R?
I can find the turbo in various forms on the Mack E7 motor 1996 or later but i am unsure of the wheels for that engine.
Or a 1995-03 CAT C-12 engine, but i dont know if they ever came with the right size wheels. I have seen alot of pics of the 3406E and they all seem to have the 072N compressor volute.
Does anyone have a picture of a DD series 60 turbocharger? preferably mounted on the engine?

vr6, i found a large turbo on a mack engine at a local salvage yard. the turbo #'s are...
model sb3-085
Serial 631gc5134p4x
When researching the turbo i found a guy selling almost the same turbo serial # 631gc5134p5x... he claimed it had a 91mm compressor wheel. i can take a closer look at the engine or turbo at the yard if you tell me what to look for. meanwhile the link i had to that guys site seems to have gone dead... i can try to fing it if it would help.

Wow, first of all you guys are awsome.
I have the turbo, several of them in fact.
I need the engine, I think im going to take a "field trip" today to the mack dealer and do some under-hood snooping.
FYI that appears to be the correct compressor A/R. But curiously it has a reduced diameter air inlet, And a smaller turbine housing.
Im curious how you guys are finding out these model or serial numbers. My turbos came to me with experimental tags on them so i really have no clue as to what the model of turbocharger i have as a production unit. All of my wheels and turbine-shafts are custom cast for my special center section.
