Understood, I really do need that gauge before something goes super wrong. The tranny is already screaming in pain, especialy now that the plate is full forward and the new turbo.

Exactly correct. My first run only made 250 and 520. Second run I had to let the tranny shift into OD then lock it out to ensure I was in the right gear and that is when I hit 396 but the graph was not steady because I have TC issues. All the other participants thought I was over 400, but not realizing it due to the tranny. I dont know if at this point a simple TC install will help. I cant afford a complete tranny but dont want to burn up the aftermarket TC if the tranny is going to fail.

The plate has only been forward for about a week and the turbo has only been on since Saturday. Do you think if I pulled the plate back and bought a converter ASAP I would be ok? It really only started to slip after the plate was slid and now with the turbo it wants to as soon as I give her the beans.

Im wondering if I am at the limits of the 57/65/14 already? If I had a good tranny I would think my numbers would be beyond what BD says that particular single is good for.

Hy Tex ,
Just wondering if you talked to Dave at all?? Honestly If I were you I would just give him a call and talk and tell him what your intentions are and he will tell you what he thinks you should do with the trans. At the very least I would do a valve body a converter loaded front drum and a new apply band. I listened to somone who told me this and I am very happy with my trans.... It might not be a full rebuild but it will surly get you by untill you are ready to do the whole thing...

TXWelder, If that s 300 you're looking at is on ebay, I asked that seller a question about the turbo. His response was that he hated the spoolup, it was a "lag monster" and didn't light till 2500 rpm on his rig. He said he could only make 28 psi boost with it, so maybe the wastegate needs to be adjusted. He said that he called HTT and gave them that part number and they told him that it was not the same as a Super B. I was shocked that he was so honest with me when his listing states "same turbo that BD sells.."
He said he was running 75 HP sticks on his 98-2002 truck with a TST set on nine. He said this turbo with TST on 9 spooled about the same as stock turbo with TST on 6.
A true Super B has a 57.5 mm extended tip compressor wheel.
Side note, this seller also told me that HTT makes BD's turbos. So take it for what it's worth, I would be careful and do your homework. He said he bought the turbo from a local shop and didn't install till 6 mos or so after he bought it new so it was past the complaint/ refund time. The turbo works fine he said, it just didn't work for him. He said that he ended up buying a 62 13 Stainless from HTT.
Anyway, I was definitely turned off to this turbo after his comments, sounds to me like it doesn't spool right, 2500 rpm is more like a big ole 66 mm not a 57.

Yeah I dont think there was any validity to what the guy stated. Not Big Blue24 but the seller of the turbo. We all know who does and does not make that particular item. 60lb gauge going in today and the wastegate is now installed and set a 30lbs for safety. I really dont have the money to go beyond what I am doing right now for power so the next step is to get a tranny that will hold it all when I do get ready for twins and headwork.
