S300G Opinions?
Okay as some of you may or may not know, my turbo is giving mesome issues and at the very least needs to be reuilt. The local Cummins place qouted me at $949.00 for a "new" re-manufactured HY35w... needless to say if I end up spending that much on a new turbo it'll be an aftermarket turbo... but thats some time away if it does happen.
But I was looking on e-bay the past few days and found one that kind of peaked my intrest, but I need to see what you guys know about its power range and driveability. I've seen the S300 talked about, but a lot of the times one guys truck is a completely different set-up and used completely different then the next guy whos got the same turbo. So it can be hard to determine if a certain turbo is right for you.
What I want is atleast 500rwhp with a single in a daily driver. Hardly ever tow, and if I do its no heavier then about 5k lbs. I'm not concerned with some(more then stock) turbo lag, but I don't want it to take a couple minutes to spool up. I'll have my Adrenaline, and 150 hp sticks... is that enough fuel or too much?
What are your guys opinions on a single S300 for my needs/wants? In particular this unit I was looking at...

Thats the same one that im running. Works very well with my set up. I dump in the big sticks and go play and gets a little warm though. Spool up is great, whole lot better than a HX40 that i had for only a few days. Contact them and see if they can lower the price some. I got $625 in all of mine from the same place.

I tried to get one of those with an offer of 700 and they turned me down. I think you're gonna have to be in the 850 dollar range before they will even consider selling.

JIT, wait a few weeks for me to get this third gen turbo installed and tuned. I think it is going to be better than a standard Super B or plain S300g with a 57mm compressor.

It'll be my current VP, airdog 150, adrenaline, jammer 5s, 3 pc exhuast manifold, and which ever turbo I end up with going to stacks.
Would the SPS62 get me in the hp range I want?

The one you were looking at on ebay was a s300g. Intake wheel is only a 57 Just found this out from Chris at TNT. Little small... Something with like a 62 or 64 should work great for you.

That S300g on ebay will only support 425-450HP on hot egt's. I don't think that 57mm compressor can be pushed over 450.
A third gen turbo from 04.5 and up is bigger: 60mm. I am going to do my swap tomorrow, so soon I'll know how well they work.

For 500 HP, and quick spoolup, your gonna want a HTT or II 62mm compressor s300 frame and 65mm exhaust turbine with 12cm fastest spool 510HP max or 14cm 525 HP max but a little slower to light. Either of those turbos will run 1300 plus brand new.
