Let a buddy borrow my smarty and now when u hook it up to his truck it says error unkown software . I got the ecm number. How could i correct this?

Hate to ask such an obvious question....but you did remove it from your truck and set it to stock before loaning it to him correct?

Yes. I set it on 6. But he hooked it up later to change it to level 9. The smarty came up with error unknown code.

I am still confused....you don't say whether you set your truck back to stock first....you are aware the Smarty only works on ONE truck at a time?

O sorry my bad. yes I did. I put the smarty on the other truck and set it on level 5. It took the program. So I left the smarty with him. He later hooked the smarty back up to his truck and was going to change it to level 9. That when the error unknown code came up.

So the smarty is locked to his vin and not mine. On my truck when i plug it in . It says vin locked. The take it to his it says error unknown code.
