Rust on the bottom of the door lips...

Its just starting to form, should I sand it down and paint, or is there an alternative?

I sprayed WD-40 in the door jams, Ive also heard of guys pourin motor oil in the jams...both work. It wont get rid of it but keeps it from getting worse.

I'd get on that rightaway with some por 15 if I were you. see if you can get some inside the door too. I let mine go and now I need whole new doors. BTW new door skelatins are about 800$ each. POR 15 seems so cheap now!

p.o.r. paint over rust. Its a paint that hardens when it gets damp. its suposed to be better then powder coating, they say it wont chip or flake. you can bend the metel or beat it with a hammer and it sticks. Everyone I talk to who has used it says its true. I got the starter kit. cleaner, degreeser and a small can of paint good for like 12 square feet for 20ish $ for the doors on the one truck. mine though is to far gone for that

Yeah.....I thought that too.

Hit a deer 2 weeks ago and decided to rip the rino lining off the rockers and have it painted while it was in the shop.

If you go through that album you can see the rust that was behind the lining in some spots.

Live and learn......

Id grind as much of the rust out as possible and maybe open up the seam of the doorskin with a knife a little and spray some rust convertor in there and let it dry. Then maybe push some seam sealer in there, squish it down and paint over it.
Take care of that soon, Ive seen some bad rust on doors with these trucks
www.por15.com has metal-ready that will do that, also you can try 'must for rust'.

Yes, that happened behind the rino lining. In that picture you can see me holding the lining up.

here is a picture of what the truck used to look like.

Good advice being given on how to deal with your problem.

I ordered the silver starter kit...

I hope this stuff is easy to use...

That sucks about your truck...

I'd call Rhino and see whats up...

You saved me a TON of money!
