RPM outlet or Rip's exhaust? (duals)

RPM outlet is selling the motoblue duals for $399.. with shipping, it comes to $429

link : http://rpmoutlet.com/dodgecdd.htm

Rundown: 14 gauge alumized, includes 2 5" t-304 stainless steel tips, 4" downpipe, 2-piece tailpipes over the rear axle.

Rip Rook has his own duals for $435 without tips. with shipping, it comes to $485.. Plus $100 or so for tips.

link: http://www.protintnw.com/sa_dodge-exh.htm

Rundown: 16 gauge alumized, no tips, 4" downpipe, 1-piece pailpipes ove the rear axle.

I really like the 1-piece tailpipes from Rip, but is his system worth an extra $150 just for that? It's also thinner metal.

P.S. Where was that link for the super cheap band clamps for the muffler? (in case I decide to go straight pipe) They were like $3.85 each

And yes, I did search all about the exhausts, but there's very little..

I've got Rips 4" exhaust and am VERY pleased with it. There is NO drone with the muffler installed per his dimensions, and the tone/note outside the rig is very authoritative. It makes the rig sound very mechanically competent, without any cackle or tinny straight pipe noises. I like it very much.

I don't have any experience with the other system......

Not $4, but 50% less than some other places for the SS band clamps.

Also, Rip told me that he didn't know of anyone who would mandrel bend any metal heavier than 16 guage.

He knows his stuff, so I believe I was "taken" on my "heavier" exhaust purchase.

There is a guy on here that bought the RPMoutlet package. I think he said it turner out to not be 14gauge, and that it did not fit up very well. I think he had to do some fabrication to get it on.

I bought a full 14ga. 4" system and it is just a lot of extra weight. I would never buy 14ga. again. JMHO

sounds like a fine set of pipes to me... and that they are thick, i.e. 14 gauge. His comment of "Wouldn't it get thinner as it's stretched to 4"" leads me to believe it's thicker than he thought it would be... 14 gauge tubing is pretty thick stuff..

Given Rip's response, and his wilingness to step up to the plate, I'm still leaning towards his system. It's on sale for $410, which is still $60 more or so than the motoblue (and you still need tips), but we'll see.. I won't be able to buy the exhaust right away anymore... darn unexpected bills...

I was the one who wrote about the RPM exhaust. I still have it on my truck, if that means anything. I still enjoy the sound, fit was not perfect, but like I said what do you want for $300. The pipes still look good and no leaks.
