roof mounted cb??

Has anyone ever mounted a cb between the sunvisors on the 'ceiling'? I guess thats what you would call it because the roof is outside on top. I dont even know if this is possible because i dont know if the roof is doubled or not. If any of yall have done this could you post a pic please? thanks a lot

The roof is double in that area, if you can pull the headliner down first and measure how far back it is doubled and where it might have large holes already in it from the factory so that you don't drill there because you will not have an anchor point if you drill into an exsisting hole, I have installed a galaxy 99v in that position before but it was in a ford, it worked out rather nice. I just felt it was a little unsafe because I would have to take my eyes off of the road to look up at the radio, just like driving one of my old petes.

Yeah would hate to see you run the screws through the roof. That would not be good.

I'm sure it would look good, but keep in mind that if you ever get into an accident you may end up hitting you head on it. 20 years ago I was stopped and someone hit me from behind doing 40 (I was in a 78 Grand Prix), I hit my head on a radar detector that was mounted on the visor. I guess no permanent damage. All I can say is OUCH! Explains a lot...
