Ride Rite
I have found discussion on Ride Rite's for the 3rd gen's, but nothing specific for the 2nd gen. Does anyone have them? Are they worth the money? Alternatives to stabilizing a cabover camper? I already have the factory "camper package" with the extra springs, sway bars front and rear, etc.

The Air Lift bags at 90 PSI bring my truck back to level with the camper on, otherwise it would squat ugly, but I don't have the camper package like you do. Does yours squat badly before engaging the overloads? Depends on the load. Your springs might support the load but the attitude sucks.

The truck only squats about three inches with the camper loaded, and actually levels the truck pretty well. I am considering them more for the "rock and roll" control then the added weight support. I can't help but think that the less rocking you have, the easier it is on the tires and suspension.

My slide-in is nearly 4000 lbs wet and I use Air lift bags which are very similar to the Ride Rites.....yes, a rear swaybar is a must but the camper package should already include that. What I find makes a huge improvement in handling and sway are Rancho 9000's.....when they are turned all the way up, they really do a great job of providing tons of extra dampening that can't be matched by many other shocks and they also limit much of the side to side sway.....IMO, if you run air bags and carry heavy loads they are a must.....as you increase your overall spring rate when adding air to the bags you have a shock that can match the additional spring rate with the appropriate amount of additional dampening. My 3500 with the camper would be a nightmare to drive with the stock shocks.

These sound like just what I'm looking for.
Locally, at 4WheelParts, they carry a brand called Air Lift that seems to be about the same thing as Air Rite. Has anyone seen or heard of them?

Yes, I use the Air Lifts.....these are the bags I was talking about in my previous post.....I have had them for years and they work quite well.......they are comparable to Ride Rites.

Just got back from checking on the Air Lift. Only the heavy duty model is available for the 2500. About the only difference is having to drill a couple of holes, where the Air Rite is suppose to be no drill. About $300 for the basic system plus $120 for install.
Since I'm in no hurry, is there anyplace on-line that I can order them cheaper?

The heavy duty (5000 lb) bags are the only bags you want for your truck anyways.......the kit is not very difficult to install......you will have to drill 4 holes per side to mount the upper brackets to the frame and the lower brackets are clamped to the springs with u-bolts....the install should take 2 hours tops...
