reworking the factory waste gate housing.

i was thinking about reworking the factory housing to make the waste gate bleed pressure from both sides. i am just worried about how i want to do it. it would be simple to cut a passage from one side to the other right across from the waste gate opening. does anyone have a reason not to do this?

I don't have any experience or knowledge about this, what do you think the benefits would be?

to keep from overspining the hx 35 and balance out the exhaust pressures between the front and rear.

What do you mean by "both sides" and "front and rear"?

The stock wastegate supplies enough pressure relief to keep the turbo from overspooling.

not at my fueling levels, i want to connect the front and rear passages of the ex housing. the factory only bleeds off from the rear side, on hx35 anyway, the front 3 cylinders are never wastegated. hy9's are waste gated f&r from holset.

Have someone drill the flutes under the flapper valve, you could drill a hole so it will vent all 6 cyl's, problem is it weaken's the housing and will crack with high temps.

If the housing was bigger like a 16 then this would be ideal.

i was thinking about doing it to my 14cm wastegated housing i have now. i am building a set of towing twins and want to see how well they will work without a external waste gate. i figure i will open the waste gate a bit and balance it front to rear. i am still going to put in some blow off valves to keep it in check, i hope i woun't need them. mike
