Replacement Headlights
I am in the market for a new set of headlights for my 1996 Ram 2500HD. I am tired of the lousy lighting I am getting. Has anyone swapped out a set of the Euro designed headlights (ie Anzo)? How about HID? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i USE A 6000Kwhite 35 watt hid bi xenon kit it was around $70(can be found cheaper) off ebay with the required relay harness so you still have highbeams and foglight use
they plug into factory and the bulbs use an adaper for the housings so far they work great just take a few seconds to " warm up"
you need to adjust the housings accordingly so as to not blind other drivers same if you replace the housings
biggest thing to do is get housings that are not fogged over
hid are not considered street legal and the other option is buying all the stuff for a sport quad beam conversion
tried the silver star sylvanias and imo waste of $50

4 lights burning rather than two:

I did it by just buying the quad sport lights, then adding the bright box threw geno's.

As a responsible driver, if you want HIDs you need to get a set of projector headlamps. Using a reflector headlamp will just end up making your HIDs blind oncoming traffic.
Unfortunately, Ebay is about the only source of projector headlamps...
I had a set of 9007 hi/low beam HIDs, and can tell you that they were an absolute waste of money.
I currently have a set of the Anzo projector beam headlights. I didn't hook up the LEDs, because I think they are retarded looking...but I did hook the halos up to the parking lights.
The projectors are not the greatest quality, but it cuts the HIDs off well and I don't blind everyone in front of me.

I changed over to HID projectors on my 96. Here's a thread on it over on hidplanet.com: http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...h-Sonar-lights. Keep in mind that projectors have a very sharp cut off and with the height of the truck limits how far down the road the light travels without blinding oncoming traffic. They are much, much brighter than the stock (nonsport) lights. If I were to do it all over again, it would be easier to switch over to the sport setup and see how that works first before going the HID route. Also if the replacement sport lights have a clear lens, you can switch over to the minimoto MH1 HID projectors without having to cut material away as I did with my aftermarket hallogen projector assemblies. The MH1's have a threaded ring that fits into the hole where the bulb mounts thus eliminating the need to cut the housing. Also go with a relay kit. I used one from LMC truck. Whatever you go with figure out the wiring (which lead is low beam, high beam, ground) as I had to reverse tow pins on my set up. If I remember correctly others had similar issues with the sport upgrade too.
